New bells of the Kremlin chimes were delivered to Moscow. Very soon the main clock of Russia will sound in a new way in its full force.
Voronezh craftsmen have spent the last year making twelve bells (the largest weighs almost a ton) to achieve a unique sound. When the bells are raised to the Spasskaya Tower, the country’s main clock will sound in a full octave for the first time in ages. The renovated belfry is the result of the joint efforts of the Presidential Administration of Russia, the Ministry of Culture of Russia, the Federal Guard Service and the Society of Church Bell Ringers, with contributions from the St. Andrew the First-Called Foundation and financial support of the Istoki Endowment Fund.
