The St. Andrew the First-Called Foundation, with financial support of Gidrostroy company and Istoki Endowment Fund, sent a team of 16 volunteer doctors to the Kuril Islands (Sakhalin region). Doctors specializing in 13 different areas will provide medical assistance for residents of this Pacific region of Russia free of charge.
Doctors from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Khabarovsk and Smolensk are participating in the medical and educational expedition “The Outposts of Russia”. Patients are admitted in the Kuril Central District Hospital on Iturup Island. If necessary, patients will be referred for further examination to other hospitals in the mainland.
